The Gathering Question

So i just now read the Beast Wars comic "The Gathering" and im just a bit confused. So where exactly were the new bunch of maximals and predacons in time? Im thinking maybe they went to Earth after the Optimus/Megatron bunch left but Magmatron and Razorbeast could change their place in time in order to get to Megatron? Cuz if they all appeared in the same time of Optimus/Megatron, they surely would have been found out by hte original bunch and i know near the end of the story Razorbeast suggested the ability to change their places in time.Im not really a comic book reader so i dont have the whole process down lol, i can inturpret much better from a show or movie. Thank you.
