Actually, this is explained around in a couple of Wiki pages. When the Autobots upgraded into Maximals, they downsized in order to facilitate better fuel compensation. Smaller 'bots = less fuel needed. So, yes, they're pretty much all roughly human-sized. (Except for ones like Optimal Optimus, of course.)
